You have a team. You have a document somewhere that talks about your team's values and organisational culture. But here is one simple question I have for you: Do your team's portraits reflect those values and that culture?

Given that the first point of contact is often either a Google search, LinkedIn, or your website, organisational portraits that offer a clear impression of who you are are a wonderful way to establish that first bit of rapport between your team and any prospective partner.

These images would work well for online profiles, organisational websites, internal use, and limited marketing materials.

  2. The above professional fees do not include any costs related to logistics, in the event of shoots outside Nairobi, such as transport and accommodation. These costs would be shared with you in an estimate that includes the cost of your selected package.
  3. The above professional fees are exclusive of taxes, levies, and any other regulatory fees incidental to these sessions. A total cost will be shared with you at the point of engagement.
  4. Basic image processing (culling, exposure adjustment, colour corrections, cropping) is included in the fee. This processing is done to my standard of work, and I retain full creative control, per my terms of service. Additional editing and retouching requests will be quoted for separately.

FAQ

"Why should I work with you?"

I put over 11 years into practicing my photography - the first 6 of those were on a part-time bases, and 5 years to this day on a full-time basis. In those first 6 years, I also worked in varying cumulative capacities: Radio host, copywriter, communication strategist, behaviour change communication specialist, and now, a visual storyteller - all of which give me insight into how people perceive the reality around them, and how to shape that perception. All that experience and understanding comes into play in how I practice my photography. Understanding the use cases for the final images is as important as my technical expertise in photography: How I deploy my lighting, how I frame my subjects, what shutter speed I work with... All that comes from having the core understanding of what emotion we choose to evoke through the images we create. TLDR? I'm really good at my job.

"Can we choose the location for our photo shoot?"

Absolutely. Location plays a significant role in capturing unique and personalised images. Which is why I like to keep location options open - be it a studio shoot, on-location shoot, or another venue of your choice in which you and/or your team will feel comfortable, allowing me to capture your portraits with meaning.

"But how do I pose?"

You need not stress too much about posing. My style of photography focuses on a candid approach to my sessions, so we'll be chatting about everything and nothing throughout, so your mind won't necessarily be focused on the precise details - the details are my job, not yours. Which leads me to this: Even then, I'll be paying attention to what seems and feels natural to you, and adapting my angles and my direction to what I notice. I do this because I'm aware of the fact that every subject I work with is different, and I'm one to pay attention to what works with you and complement that, rather than abide by a strict rulebook.

"Will you retouch our pictures?"

No. More accurately: Not exactly. I'm very deliberate in how I use my editing software. The philosophy I live by in my practice is to capture candidly, paying attention to light and environment during both the shoot and edit to arrive at the feeling we'd like to evoke. So while I'll very likely adjust temperature settings, refine tones and contrast, and pay keen attention to the little details that make for a striking image, I make it a habit not to edit the portraits I take in a manner that completely misrepresents what is true.

"How long does it take to receive the final edited photos?"

I understand the anticipation of seeing your final photos. My editing process typically takes 2-4 weeks, depending on the volume of images, the complexity of editing required, and the present status of my pipeline. I prioritise quality and attention to detail to deliver striking images that capture your essence.

"Does it really matter that much?"

That's an answer only you have. But let me put it to you this way: After years of incremental improvement, you’ve found a look that works for you. You’ve invested in a wardrobe that fits your image. You’ve worked on your online profile and portfolio in a way that wonderfully showcases all you have to offer. You have it all… Except your pictures are either poorly lit, or low quality. Maybe a selfie, even. Hey, hey: No shade from me, I promise. But if you look at it, if you really look at it: Is it truly hitting the mark? Are your images doing the things you need them to do? Only you can answer that. And once you have your answer, you can get in touch with me.
